Fans have been worrying about the health of the NBA legend Michael Jordan after he was seen with disturbingly yellow eyes while he attended the Champions League soccer match in Monaco last Thursday.

This led to fears that Jordan, 61, could be suffering from jaundice, which is typically brought on by alcohol abuse. Another theory was that he has an elevated melanin pigment on the surface of his eye.

Now, an insider is speaking out to address Jordan’s situation.

Alleged Truth Behind Jordan’s Yellow Eyes

This insider claimed that Jordan is not battling an illness and is not in poor health.

“Mike is OK. He goes to the doctor, he is just getting older and the recent pics are in no way or should be a reason for concern,” the source told Daily Mail. “There is nothing wrong with him. Like everyone, we should get a little more exercise and Mike enjoys the life he has made for himself, but there isn’t any hidden illness that he is dealing with.”

Jordan is reportedly “embarrassed” by the reaction to his eyes. He’s vowed to those close to him that he will look healthier when he makes his next public appearance.

“He has heard fans concerns and he appreciates the concern but also is a little embarrassed that people are seeing him in this way,” the insider continued. “He doesn’t want to be remembered by people as looking sick and down and out, the next time we see him, it will be dramatically different and he will look much better, he will bounce back.”

Jordan Is Out Of The Spotlight

This isn’t the first time that Jordan’s seemingly yellow eyes have caused concern. Fans also noticed them in the hit docuseries The Last Dance. This docuseries told the story of the legendary Chicago Bulls team that he inspired to six NBA titles. In Jordan’s interviews for the docuseries, there appeared to be a yellow tint to his eyes. While Jordan is widely regarded as the best basketball star of all time, he’s been retired for twenty years.

“Michael Jordan isn’t always out there and on our TV screens, so we haven’t seen him age,” the source explained. “Most of the time people see him is when his highlights are shown, or we see his crying face that has become one of the biggest memes of all time.”

“So when we see him like we have just seen him, it is very jarring because we have to reason to ourselves that our hero is getting older, which means we are getting older,” the insider added. “Everyone sees Charles Barkley and Shaq all the time, and they have both considerably aged, but since we see them all the time, it is easier to reason the changes that have happened to them.”

Jordan’s Alcohol Fears

Jordan has stayed relatively quiet about enjoying smoking and drinking. However, he’s admitted to some concerns about alcohol in the past.

“A lot of times I’ll dream I’m a bad alcoholic and I can’t stop drinking and embarrassing myself,” Jordan previously said. “And I’m going to lose everything. I wake up from that dream in a sweat.”

Jordan is a true living legend in the basketball world. The yellowing of his eyes is certainly worrying. We can only hope and pray that there isn’t a serious health reason behind it!
