Comedians Jon Stewart and Amy Schumer drew very different crowd reactions at Saturday’s New York Knicks game. The story behind each was pretty funny.
Stewart, known for his work on The Daily Show, made a bet with Knicks star Jalen Brunson involving a football game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The bet – If the Eagles won, Stewart would have to wear a Saquon Barkley Philadelphia Eagles jersey to a Knicks game. As was often the case throughout the season, the Eagles won, and the Giants lost.
Stewart made good on the bet during a Lakers game at Madison Square Garden. The sad-faced comedian was shown on the Jumbotron, eliciting quite a well-deserved crowd reaction.

Jon Stewart Jeered At Knicks Game
Why would Stewart even make such a bet? I mean, even if the Eagles were not playing their starters. Philly’s third-stringers are better than the Giants starters.
If New York fans want to take out their frustrations, they may want to direct their ire at the Giants organization, not Jon Stewart. The poor guy clearly didn’t want to be wearing Barkley’s merch.
Losing Saquon may go down as one of the worst organizational moves in the history of the NFL.
After the Giants let him go in free agency, Barkley became just the ninth running back in league history to surpass the 2,000-yard rushing milestone. He had a more than decent shot at breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing yards record but sat to prevent injury risks heading into the playoffs. Now he’s playing in the Super Bowl.
That final game was against the Giants, so they were spared. Earlier in the season, Barkley torched his former team for 176 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
So New York fans are understandably a little bitter, especially with the Eagles set to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIX this Sunday.

Amy Schumer Gets a Different Reaction
While Knicks fans were raining down boos on Jon Stewart, fellow comedian Amy Schumer elicited a very different reaction from the crowd.
The Knicks cheerleaders, the famed Knicks City Dancers, pulled Schumer out of the crowd for a faux surprise. She was clearly in on it, shocking the crowd by joining in on the dance routine.
And she nailed it. Somewhat.

At least Knicks fans had something to cheer about that night. Aside from knowing their hated rivals were going to the Super Bowl, they also got sent packing by the Lakers, 128-112.
