LeBron James has been honored with a unique Topps trading card after surpassing 50,000 career combined (regular season/playoffs) points earlier this week. The Los Angeles Lakers star achieved the feat in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The one-of-a-kind card features LeBron’s autograph and a piece of the shooting sleeve he wore during that milestone night. It’s also inscribed with the words “50K Points” under his signature.
“In a career defined by historic firsts, LeBron James has once again proven to be in a league of his own,” the back of the card reads. “With his first bucket against New Orleans, King James became the first player ever to record 50,000 career points across the regular season and playoffs.”
“This latest milestone not only stands as a testament to his incredible longevity, but also to the excellence he has sustained over the course of his 22-year-career.”
No word on whether the card will feature an action figure with realistic flopping action as well.

LeBron James Honored With Rare Card
Topps created this collectible in their “Topps Now” series to celebrate his achievement as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. One lucky fan will receive this exclusive card, making it a coveted piece of basketball history.
Of course, chances are that lucky fan will be holding a very valuable exclusive card.
James entered the game against the Pelicans on Tuesday with 49,999 points and reached the milestone early in the first quarter, sinking a 3-pointer from the left wing off an assist from Luka Doncic.
The moment was acknowledged during a timeout with an announcement to the crowd, and James finished the game with 34 points, leading the Lakers to a 136-115 victory.
It was their seventh consecutive victory as the duo of James and his son Bronny have been unstoppable of late. Er, I mean James and Doncic.
The Lake Show has a 19-4 record in its last 23 games and is currently the second seed in the Western Conference.

Ruining The Game
Will the LeBron James unique card generate the same interest as the Paul Skenes rookie card earlier this year?
The Rookie Debut Patch cards, introduced by Topps last year, have become a significant innovation in baseball card collecting. Each card includes an actual patch from the player’s uniform during their first MLB game, signed by the player.
An 11-year-old from Los Angeles struck gold when he found the Skenes card. The team immediately offered him two season tickets behind home plate at PNC Park for the next 30 years, a private tour of their Spring Training facilities, and other exclusive experiences. Which, if you know the Pirates’ history, sounds more like a punishment than a reward.
To the lucky person who finds this card… We’d love to bring this card home to PNC Park to share with all Buccos fans.

James is probably relieved to get some positive press with his milestone and trading card.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith recently shredded LeBron for ruining the All-Star game experience this year for 31-year-old veteran Norman Powell and claimed the so-called King “ruined the Slam Dunk Contest.”
