NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller will get a chance to continue his broadcasting career, despite the TNT network shifting companies from Warner Brothers Discovery to ESPN/ABC. Miller has been hired by NBC to be the lead analyst for their NBA coverage when it returns next season.

Miller spent two decades at TNT covering the NBA since his retirement in 2005. He has been alongside two of the all time great play-by-play commentators the majority of his career: Marv Albert and Kevin Harlan.

Now, Miller will work alongside Mike Tirico at NBC. With Miller having been a part of March Madness coverage, there’s no telling exactly what will happen with that. Who will CBS replace him with? It is certainly a big blow to the network not to have the Knick Killer on board.

Many More Changes Coming To NBA Coverage

As far as the rest of NBC’s crew, Noah Eagle and Jamal Crawford will be covering games. Many more are sure to come soon in the list of many changes regarding NBA coverage next season. ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth is being pursued by Amazon to be a sideline reporter, as just one example.

There have been rumors circulating regarding Shaquille O’Neal joining NBC after this season. Reggie Miller’s former broadcast partner Kevin Harlan will call games for Amazon next year. Harlan had been calling NBA games for TNT since 2003. We do know one other big name joining Amazon, however: Ian Eagle.

Ian Eagle’s Departure

Ian Eagle will also join Amazon next year. Eagle is also the lead commentator for the Brooklyn Nets on YES Network in New York. He’s been commentating games for the Nets since 2002, but became the lead commentator in 2011 alongside Sarah Kustok as lead analyst. Eagle also calls NFL games for CBS.

The beginning of NBA season overlaps with the middle of the NFL season in late October, meaning double-duty for a lucky few like Eagle.
