The Philadelphia 76ers have been extremely disappointing this season – for a variety of reasons. Primarily, their two superstars Joel Embiid and Paul George have not been available. Embiid in particular has had a lingering knee injury all season.

And it doesn’t look like the situation will improve any time soon. According to Shams Charania, the team is exploring every option including shutting Embiid down for the rest of the season.

And that just doesn’t sit right with the most electrifying man with a sports mic. On ESPN’s NBA Countdown, Stephen A. Smith completely scorched the franchise. Deservedly so!

Another Classic Stephen A. Rant

When the subject of the 76ers came up, Smith had enough. In part, Smith’s frustration about the team can be summed up in a sentence: “America, you don’t give a damn about the Sixers. Neither do we.”

Stephen A. went on to suggest that the 76ers should just lean into it. Really go all the way. Sit Paul George too! Aw hell, just pack it in completely.

The 76ers are currently 20-36 and have lost seven consecutive games. They are 12th in the Eastern Conference standings. It’s been nothing short of a disappointment.

Check out Smith’s entire rant below. What an amazing piece of television:

Notable Stephen A Smith Rants

As everyone knows, Smith is a diehard New York Knicks fan. During the 2019 season in particular, they were not a very good team.

After a 21-point loss at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Smith went off on the state of the Knicks, not only because of their bad roster but also because President of Basketball Operations Steve Mills reportedly laid the groundwork for coach David Fizdale to be fired.

In another classic, Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid went scoreless against the Toronto Raptors in a 2019-20 regular season game, the same team Philadelphia was eliminated by in the playoffs the previous season.

And yes, you read that right. Joel Embiid scored zero points in 31 minutes. By the way, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokonumpo scored 50 against the Utah Jazz. Not a good look for Embiid.
