It’s been two years since Tom Brady retired from the NFL after over twenty years of playing professional football. It’s easy to forget, but this (possibly insane) man played professional football until he was 45-years-old.

Unfortunately, it seems that Brady is still struggling to find his place in a post-football world. Not that we can blame the guy.

Since his retirement, Brady has tried to make a go of it in broadcasting. Over the past few weeks, however, Brady’s frequent mistakes and awkward moments on air have resulted in many NFL fans urging him to take a step back from broadcasting and focus on family life for a bit.

Brady Slips Up In Commentary

Last month, Brady repeatedly mixed up names while doing commentary for the NFC Wild Card game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.

“[You have] three timeouts, so you’d have a couple plays. But I like this call by the Phillies… excuse me, by Philly,” Brady said, tripping over his words.

Minutes later, Brady accidentally referred to Packers running back Josh Jacobs as Brandon Jacobs. The latter is a former NFL halfback who hasn’t played in years.

Social media had no mercy on Brady when it came to those mistakes.

“Maybe Brady’s not cut out for broadcasting,” one social media user commented. Another added, “TB is the GOAT, but he is brutal at this.”

A third user mocked Brady’s massive $375 million salary.

“They’re giving this man the GDP of Lithuania to do this,” this person wrote.

Another Bad Day In The Broadcasting Booth For Brady

This wasn’t Brady’s only bad day in the broadcasting booth. Back in December, he forgot crucial details about the Green Bay Packers during their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

“Two of them to the (Detroit) Lions – they’re a good team,” Brady said at the time. “The (Philadelphia) Eagles, they lost to them. They’re a good team.”

A more seasoned broadcaster would have simply admitted to not remembering the names so that the commentary could move on. Instead, Brady let an uncomfortable silence go on for far too long.

“And they lost to the uh…” Brady stammered. “Who’d they lose to, the other one?”

Brady attempted to cover up his mistake by moving on to talk about the game itself. Fans, however, were quick to call him out for this as well.

“He is awful at this job,” one fan wrote on social media. “It’s awkward. Just keeping it 100.”

“Niceties out of the way, he is a truly AWFUL announcer and he should quit before he completely destroys his legacy,” another disgruntled fan commented.

Fans Roast Brady’s Super Bowl Commentary

Things didn’t get any better for Brady at last week’s Super Bowl. While Brady may have thought that night went better for him, as he didn’t appear to make any noticeable mistakes, fans still took issue with his broadcasting skills.

“His flow is awkward, and he always makes it about his own experiences,” one Super Bowl viewer commented. “Greg Olsen should’ve been the one doing the Super Bowl with Kevin Burkhardt.”

“Half of the commentary from Tom Brady is him talking about himself and his playing days,” another football fan stated. “Wish I could mute him.”

It appears that Brady may be learning the hard way that broadcasting isn’t as easy as it looks. Perhaps he should use the NFL off-season to brush up on his skills in the commentary booth. If he doesn’t, Brady can only expect NFL fans to be even harder on him during the next football season!
