Snoop Dogg has proved once again how incredibly entertaining and sharp he is as a game commentator. No, I’m not kidding. His latest effort will likely be the most fun thing you’ll see in the NBA all year.
Mr. Dogg provided colorful commentary on Peacock during a heated Warriors–Clippers matchup on Monday. And he did not disappoint. The highlight of it all was likely his call on the ejection of Golden State head coach Steve Kerr.
Kerr was ejected in the fourth quarter after exploding over missed calls. Coach needed to be restrained by assistants as he confronted officials. The eruption stemmed from a sequence in which a Stephen Curry basket was waved off due to a floor foul call, followed by a missed goaltending call that led to Curry’s fifth foul.
Snoop seemed to enjoy the fiery moment.
“Get him out of there! Get him out of there! Back him up, back him up, G.P. [Gary Payton II] Back him up!” he excitedly said. “Steve’s ready to fire on him. Steve’s back in Inglewood right now. Inglewood! Get him, Steve! You’re in Inglewood, Steve! The Arizona Wildcat came out. Look at him!”
The D-O-Double G then started to growl to emulate the wildcat. I mean, just legendary stuff right here. You can teach this kind of talent.
Snoop Dogg was Entertaining Throughout
The call on the Steve Kerr ejection wasn’t the only eminently entertaining moment provided by Snoop Dogg during the broadcast. Not by a long shot.
How do you not love the call on this Jimmy Butler steal? Cookies and cream, baby!
I don’t know what cookies and cream have to do with a steal, but damn, that is great stuff right there. Legends were born during the broadcast.
Perhaps the most crucial commentary from Dogg came when Snoop pointed out just how garbage the NBA is for turning into a game where everybody chucks up three-pointers.
Case in point – Brook Lopez, who stands at 7’1″ and weighs 282 lbs., hurling up a three instead of posting up. Snoop was not pleased with the effort.
He later added this gem when a much smaller player ran into Lopez at the defensive end: “Small fries tryin to run up on a Big Mac. Sit down somewhere.”

He’s Pretty Good at This
Of course, Bounding Into Sports fans already know how good Snoop Dogg is on sports commentary. Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (Snoop’s real name) was a highlight of the Paris Olympics coverage last summer.
He even showed off the kind of energy Major League Baseball needs in some of their productions when he briefly called the action at a Milwaukee Brewers game.
“Who is that with that rocket? Oh lord, he got a rocket in his pocket. Oh, he made that!” the excited rapper exclaimed on one routine ground ball.

Lest we forget about the joke he cracked on Bill Belichick when he hosted the 14th annual NFL Honors?
“I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time. I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. I remember back when the Chiefs was bad,” Snoop joked.
“And I remember, what was it… Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet.”
Whatever it is, MLB, the NBA, or the NFL needs to get that man in a booth or on the sidelines more often. The rhymes, the phrases, and the quick wit all make for some entertaining moments.
