Actress Shailene Woodley made news back in 2020 when she started dating then-Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It was the latest example of the four-time NFL MVP being linked to big-name celebrities. Remember, he had dated fellow actress Olivia Munn and race car driver Danica Patrick before Woodley.
Woodley has been pretty quiet and out of the news since the Divergent franchise star and Rodgers broke up and called off their engagement back in 2022.
Until now.
She touched on Rodgers without naming him in a recent interview with Bustle. It was some rather interesting stuff.
“I’m very uninterested in the performance of people at this moment in life. I’m uninterested in the external value that we put on everything,” Woodley said. “I find the performance of being something else in order to receive love or acceptance or work from others to be the ultimate form of soul death.”
“Performance of people.” It’s not too hard to read between the lines here. She’s obviously talking about Rodgers and his public persona compared to how he is behind the scenes. Whatever that means is anyone’s best guess.

“Just a broken heart,” Woodley told Bustle. “A broken heart that healed and broke again. I fell in love over and over with unavailability. I’m very open as a human. I love easy, and I care easy, but I do not love lightly, and I do not care lightly.”
She has not been linked to another significant other since Woodley and Rodgers broke up two years ago. It seems to have impacted her mentality from a dating perspective.
As for Rodgers, the 40-year-old is now a member of the New York Jets. He made his return to action Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a torn Achilles’ a few plays into his Jets career last September.
He’s currently dating Internet personality Mallory Edens. The two started seeing one another back in 2023.
