Cheeseburgers are to Andy Reid what peanut butter is to jelly. You just can’t have one without the other.
You don’t have to be the keenest observer to notice Reid’s affection for cheeseburgers. He talks about them all the time. It’s like his go-to celebration: round up all the cheeseburgers in sight and demolish them.
We’re not here to chastise Coach Reid for his affectionate relationship with cheeseburgers. Far from it, actually. Instead, we’re here to share the love.
By now, we’ve all seen the Andy Reid State Farm commercial in which he munches french fries, snatches Patrick Mahomes’ cheeseburger for a quick bite, and slyly tries to make a move on his franchise quarterback’s “nuggies.”
But do you know the real story behind the State Farm commercial involving two of the biggest Kansas City Chiefs figures today? We didn’t, not until Coach Reid spilled the tea.
According to Reid, as a self-proclaimed “cheeseburger connoisseur,” the Chiefs coach consumed “60” cheeseburgers during the filming of the State Farm commercial alone. That doesn’t even count his obligatory celebration cheeseburger.
Here’s Reid with a behind-the-scenes look at how he became a full-blown TV star.

Thank goodness Mahomes stepped in, or we’d all be stuck with a picture of Reid burning through cheeseburgers like the Cookie Monster embedded in our brains. Credit to State Farm for still finding a way to make a creative commercial involving a couple of football icons.
