Once again, former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is in the middle of another strange and bizarre story. This time, however, it’s no laughing matter, as it involves charges of an alleged failure to pay child support payments.

The eccentric playmaker and current owner of the arena football team the Albany Empire, is addressing a story that a warrant had been issued for his arrest in Florida for failing to make child support payments. Brown vehemently denies this report and went so far as to post a screenshot of his payment.

Brown displayed a public image of a payment to Florida Child Support totaling the $33,260.58 he reportedly owed Wiltrice Jackson, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, the large sum.

On Saturday, Brown addressed the payment to WRGB-TV in Albany, New York.

“Yeah, well, first off, anytime you say a guy (has) a team, there’s going to be some garnish in the wages, but let’s get this clear: I paid my bills, I’m a professional,” he told the station. “It’s about running the Empire and running the business. We don’t need negativity on my name, it’s bigger than me.”

Regardless, it was an unusual response by Brown. However, making public decries about child support payments is by far not the strangest thing the 34-year-old athlete has done in his life and career. The former Steeler, Raider, and Buccaneer likely cut his own playing days short due to his antics.

Last week, he was recently involved in a sideline disagreement at his own National Arena League game. During Albany’s season-opener against the Orlando Predators in New York, co-owner Brown was down on the field, trying to hype up fans for the upcoming game. However, at some point, a seemingly unaware security guard instructed him that he and his party needed to get off the field.

“I’ll think about it,” Brown can be heard saying, before he adds, “We ain’t going nowhere.”

“It’s my field… I’m the owner.”
