Former President Joe Biden attended the Philadelphia Eagles‘ home game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Philly secured a 31-0 victory, snapping a three-game losing streak in the process. Maybe he brought them some luck. But then again, they probably didn’t need it against the woeful silver-and-black.

Biden appeared on the sidelines as a guest, showing support for the team despite having historically identified as a Green Bay Packers fan. No worries, there’s a decent chance his handlers told him they were at Lambeau Field. No harm, no foul.

The former President wore an Eagles hat in a desperate attempt to show support. But fans noticed something about it rather quickly.

The hat commemorated Super Bowl LVII in 2023, a game the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fans rip Joe Biden

In a video captured during the event, Joe Biden enthusiastically cheered on the Eagles.

“Go Birds, man! All the way, we gotta win the Super Bowl again,” he said.

Which would have been fine, had he been sporting a Super Bowl LIX hat. Instead, he was showing off the Super Bowl LVII lid when the Chiefs pulled out the victory, 38-35.

Fans were rather merciless, as they can sometimes be.

“Wearing the Super Bowl hat for the game we lost is about as peak Biden as Biden could be,” one Eagles fan wrote on X.

“Somebody get (former) President Biden a hat from a Super Bowl the Eagles actually won,” another demanded.

One fan added, “Good thing he’s out there supporting the Eagles wearing a SB57 hat, which is the SB that the Chiefs beat the Eagles.”

In one image, where Biden was seen with Eagles Owner Jeffrey Lurie, fans were even more merciless.

“Lurie is telling him where he is and that he’s not the President. Biden thinks he’s talking to Pelosi,” a fan quipped.

It gets worse

Oof. Making things even worse, Joe Biden welcomed the Chiefs to the White House that year after they beat the Eagles. Maybe they gave him the hat as a joke.

You’d think he’d remember that. He hosted them in 2023, then they came back in 2024, having won back-to-back titles. Biden went viral during that celebration after wearing a Chiefs helmet that was way too big to hold his pudding-infused skull.

It could be worse, we suppose. He could be a Philadelphia politician who doesn’t know how to spell “Eagles.”

Like Mayor Cherelle Parker, who completely mangled the spelling of her team’s name during a chant before the Eagles’ victory over the Rams in the NFC divisional round game last season.

“Let me hear you all say, E-L-G-S-E-S, Eagles!” she shouted. “Let’s go, birds!”

Nailed it.

I mean, that’s right up there with Biden trying to quote the Declaration of Independence. You know, the thing.

The Eagles (9-5) comfortably lead the NFC East and will seek to clinch that title against the Washington Commanders this Sunday. Maybe Biden will show up to that game wearing a Super Bowl XV hat.
