Just six months after saying an emotional goodbye to the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick is making his return to the NFL.

Belichick’s NFL Return

After 24 seasons as the head coach of the Patriots, Belichick didn’t land an NFL coaching job for the 2024-25 season. That’s why Belichick has decided to move into the world of NFL television!

Belichick has been hired as an analyst for the Emmy-winning show Inside the NFL on The CW Network.

For this gig, Belichick will be sitting alongside the host and Super Bowl-winning safety Ryan Clark, Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson, and two-time Super Bowl-winning defensive end Chris Long on the weekly program. The first episode is scheduled to premiere on Friday, August 30.

“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise,” Belichick said in a statement. “I’ve always appreciated Inside the NFL’s depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros – Ryan, Chris and Chad – this coming season. “

CW Network Speaks Out On Belichick

The CW Network president Dennis Miller released a statement of his own addressing Belichick’s hiring.

“Bill Belichick joining Inside the NFL is a true game-changer for this storied franchise and The CW,” Miller said. “Not only is he one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history, but his knowledge and passion for football is truly unmatched.”

“Fans will now get the chance to hear his insights and better understand the nuances of the game from the master himself,” he continued. “We cannot wait for Bill, Ryan, Chad and Chris to deliver a championship-caliber show all season long.”

Belichick has also signed deals to appear on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show and The Manningcast with Peyton and Eli Manning. Clearly, despite no longer being the head coach for the Patriots, Belichick will be a busy man this NFL season!

Belichick’s History

During his time with the Patriots, Belichick coached the team to an unprecedented six Super Bowl wins. They appeared in 10 Super Bowls. He was 266-121 with the Patriots, and had 302 wins during his career. Belichick was also a three-time AP Coach.

Belichick and the Patriots parted ways back in January. This came after the team only made the playoffs once since quarterback Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Nowhere in America are pro sports fans as passionate as in New England and for 24 years, I was blessed to feel your passion and power,” Belichick said at the time in an emotional goodbye to fans. “The Patriots are the only NFL team representing SIX states, but in reality, Patriots Nation knows no borders.”

Whether you’re a fan of the Patriots or not, Belichick is a true character and a master of the game. We can’t wait to see how he does as a broadcaster next month!
