Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced that the team will blast the new album by Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl, throughout their Friday practice session.
Swift is engaged to teammate Travis Kelce. Playing the new album is no doubt a sign of support for their tight end and the Pop Princess.
Tay Tay set the music world ablaze with the new album drop, which features numerous tracks that reference her and Kelce’s relationship.
Mahomes, during an appearance on Kansas City’s 96.5 FM radio show The Drive, admitted the team is super-pumped about the album.
“Oh, yeah, for sure. I’m super excited. I haven’t been able to hear the album yet, but I’m super excited to be able to do that,” Mahomes said. “It’ll be blaring all through the Chiefs’ facility tomorrow.”
“We’ll be supporting Taylor. She’s put in so much hard work into this, and I’m excited to hear the album just like everybody else.”

Taylor Swift’s raunchy song about Travis Kelce
Now, granted, it’s completely harmless for the team to play Taylor Swift’s new album, considering she’s engaged to one of their players. But it might make for some awkward moments in the facility.
Especially when they get around to a track titled “Wood,” which apparently references Kelce’s um … “magic wand.”
Cosmopolitan describes the song as “her raunchiest yet” and explains it is literally an “NSFW Travis Kelce sex song.”
Ah, nothing will quite get the Chiefs motivated like hearing about their star tight end’s “redwood tree,” his wand that broke the curse (presumably her numerous past failed relationships), and his “New Heights of manhood.”
“New Heights” is a reference to the Kelce brothers’ popular podcast. And then there’s, well … whatever this verse is:
Forgive me, it sounds cocky
He ah-matized me and opened my еyes
Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see
His love was thе key that opened my thighs

Not seeking attention
Honestly, having the Chiefs blaring Taylor Swift’s music at their practices helps secure their slot as the most despised team in football. They are fully leaning into the publicity. Which is why the NFL loves them, as it generates more revenue for the league.
No wonder they have the entire officiating staff as their most valuable 12th man. Allegedly.
Still, Travis Kelce insists the couple is not seeking attention in any way. They’re just living their best life.
“It gets thrown out there that we’re trying to seek attention now and then, but it’s like, we’re just enjoying life, having fun, going to hockey games, kind of introducing her to some more of the sports world that she hasn’t really [seen],” he said on a recent podcast.
Kelce says he gets a “different” feeling when introducing Taylor Swift, the biggest pop star on the planet, as his fiancée.
“Yeah, it was pretty cool,” he said of Swift’s new status as his future wife. “I still get giddy. Exciting times. Still fresh.”
Sportsnaut reported that the two will be involved in a wedding befitting royalty here in the States, while having real-world family connections to European royalty.
Taylor Swift and Kelce, according to genealogical research conducted by MyHeritage, both share distant lineage to a pair of consequential kings who ruled European countries in the 1600s and 1700s.
