The Kansas City Chiefs scored a huge win on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, and there is reason to believe Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark played a role in the victory.

This has been a tough season for Patrick Mahomes and the gang. After making it to the Super Bowl for a third straight year, the league’s current dynasty team opened the campaign with a pair of losses and entered their Week 6 clash with Detroit after blowing a winnable game against the Jaguars the week before.

However, despite being the underdogs to the Lions and their red-hot offense, KC played great on both sides of the ball. Their defense limited Detroit to just 17 points, and the offense put up a well-rounded performance — including three touchdown passes from Mahomes — in their 30-17 victory. Oddly enough, there was something different about this game than the Chiefs’ previous five that could be why they played so well.

Taylor Swift attends first Chiefs game of the 2025 season

On Sunday night, Travis Kelce’s lady love, Taylor Swift, was in attendance. It was the first game this season she has been at in person. She has been pretty busy in recent months with the release of her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” So was unable to be at the games until now.

The Chiefs have an outstanding 19-4 record overall when the music megastar is in the building for their games. It can’t be a coincidence that with Swift in the house, the Chiefs got a big W. Furthermore, with his fiancée looking on, Travis Kelce had his best game of the season as he posted 78 yards on just six catches.

However, it may not have just been Swift that brought the Chiefs and Kelce some Sunday luck. Cameras for the Sunday Night Football broadcast not only caught the singer in the same suite with her future in-laws, but WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark was with them. Maybe the awesome combined powers of Swift and Clark were too much for the Lions to take, and it’s why they lost this weekend.
