Former kick returner and wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers Amari Rodgers suggests his failures with the team were because his quarterback didn’t give him “love.”
The comments cropped up due to reports that former Packers signal-caller and current New York Jet, Aaron Rodgers, offered to let one of his new rookie teammates stay in his guest house.
Wide receiver Malachi Corley, taken by the Jets in the third round, revealed the lengths that his QB is taking to create camaraderie with his new on-field target.
“He said I could stay in his guest house if I wanted to,” Corley said. “Just trying to stay with him. Be a fly on the wall.”

Amari Rodgers Slams Aaron Rodgers
Amari Rodgers took the news that Aaron is opening up his home to new rookies and put a damper on things.
“Promise this helps him play better as a Rookie,” the former Packers wide receiver wrote on X. “If only I had this type of love coming into GB, but to each his own.”
Amari would later take down his post, but the bitterness was palpable.
His career with Green Bay was largely nondescript. In two seasons, he had 8 catches for 95 yards and zero touchdowns. As a kick returner, he averaged 7.6 yards/punt and 18.9 yards/kickoff.
He would eventually be cut following an acute case of fumble-itis.

Aaron and Amari Rodgers have seemingly always had a contentious relationship. In Aaron’s last season with the Pack, he was very dismissive when asked to comment about Amari’s role in the offense.
Amari, after being released by the Packers in 2022 and signing with the Houston Texans, expressed disappointment that Rodgers wouldn’t talk to him much outside of the game.
“[Aaron Rodgers] does not really have many conversations outside of football with many people,” he claimed at the time.
“So that kind of maybe played a role, just not being able to feel personable towards him, not at all connected, so you didn’t really feel comfortable to say things or communicate the way that you want. That played a part more than anything.”
As Packers Wire has previously reported, Aaron Rodgers consistently praised other rookie wideouts at the time that Amari was playing. Now he’s opening up his guest home to a Jets rookie receiver.
It seems clear there is or was tension between these two. Suggesting that is the reason Amari’s career didn’t pan out the way he personally envisioned is a bit of a stretch.
