Alabama lineman Elijah Pritchett has reportedly been arrested for spreading the wrong kind of love
Alabama Crimson Tide lineman Elijah Pritchett was taken into custody and charged on Wednesday with knowingly passing on a sexually transmitted disease, according to the Tuscaloosa Thread.
Pritchett, 19, is a redshirt freshman for the Tide, but that could be in jeopardy, as he now finds himself in a very sticky situation. He was charged under AL Code § 22-11A-21, which classifies the knowing transmission of a sexually transmitted disease as a Class C misdemeanor.
The Alabama lineman was released on a $500 bond later on Wednesday.
A misdemeanor charge and a $500 bond seem ridiculously weak considering the ramifications of possibly afflicting somebody with a life-altering or lifelong disease. This of course hinges on what may have been transmitted and if the allegations are even true. We just don’t know at this point.
Due to the health issues surrounding the situation, many details have not been made available. Law enforcement officials are not legally allowed to disclose private medical information regarding suspects.

Elijah Pritchett was a four-star recruit for the university from Columbus, Georgia. The big man had played in all 13 games as part of the offensive line rotation for the Crimson Tide this season. He had initially considered entering the transfer portal at the end of this season but decided to withdraw his name.
Now he’s accused of intentionally transmitting an STD through another kind of transfer portal.
Alabama is set to take on Michigan in the Rose Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinals on New Year’s Day. There’s been no word yet as to whether or not Coach Nick Sabin will allow Prichett to play.
