Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones briefly addressed the paternity case involving 27-year-old Alexandra Davis following its stunning conclusion last week.

Davis has contended that Jones is her biological father, an issue prompting a countersuit from Jones and a legal battle that stretched nearly two and a half years.

“It was resolved. It was unfortunate.” Jones said according to a reporter for the Star-Telegram, “It was sensitive to me and my family… It was resolved. I certainly am where I want to be.”

Earlier this year, a judge as part of the legal proceedings had ordered Jones to take a paternity test. Davis alleged that he is her biological father and that she was conceived from a relationship between Jones and her mother in the mid-1990s.

But Jones will not be required to take that test now.

Jerry Jones Relieved That Paternity Case Was Resolved

Jerry Jones is seemingly not the only one happy with the paternity case being resolved. In fact, everyone seems thrilled at the way the bizarre trial went last week.

Lawyers for the woman stated that she “is happy” with the outcome of the trial despite the Cowboys owner not having to take a paternity test to verify if he is the father. And despite her having to dismiss all pending lawsuits against Jones with prejudice.

“I feel good,” she said of the settlement that was reached rather abruptly.

The terms of the settlement were not released to the public.

Everyone’s A Winner

The mother too, appears to be pleased with the terms.

“Everything got resolved,” she said. “We’re very happy about it.”

In fact, the interactions between Jerry Jones, the mother, and the daughter, were wild considering we were dealing with a paternity case here and a lot of money.

Alexandra and Jones were seen smiling as they spoke in the hallway, according to NBC 5, and the Cowboys owner even at one point consoled her emotional mother during testimony.

“The judge paused testimony for a break as Cynthia Davis was too emotional to continue testifying, and Jones gave her a long hug after she stepped off the witness stand,” WFAA reported.

From tears to happiness, Jones spoke outside the courtroom following the odd end of the trial.

“I regret that it came to this, and I’m glad that it is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” Jones said.
