Some Detroit Lions players showed love for President Trump on Sunday – even if Washington Commanders fans weren’t quite as welcoming.
During the first quarter of the game, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown caught a third-and-seven pass for a touchdown, giving the Lions a 14-3 lead en route to a convincing 44-22 drubbing of the Commanders.
St. Brown and teammate Jameson Williams celebrated by performing the “Trump Dance”—a double-fist pump gesture—while pointing toward the president’s skybox.
The celebratory move came amid anticipation for President Trump’s attendance at the NFL matchup. He was there to take part in the halftime veterans’ celebration as part of the league’s Salute to Service initiative.

Commanders fans greet Trump with boos
By contrast, the Washington Commanders fans weren’t about to greet President Trump nicely – with a dance or otherwise. They opted for showering him with boos.
Trump made history as the first sitting U.S. president to attend a regular-season NFL game in nearly 50 years, but his appearance was met with a smattering of boos from the home crowd at FedExField.
They must not be thrilled that he’s cleaning up their crime-ridden city.
And, of course, being trash like D.C., the booing intensified at halftime when Trump participated in a ceremonial swearing-in of new military recruits.
Imagine hating the President’s pro-America agenda so much in a city known for the worst corruption in the world that you feel it necessary to take away from a ceremony for military recruits.
Hey Commanders fans – maybe focus up on the fact that your team is 3-7 instead of being disrespectful animals toward service members.

Trump dance has caught fire
Again, showing more class than the Commanders fans was another Lions player, who, before the game, said it would be super-cool to play in front of the president.
Linebacker Trevor Nowaske told the Detroit Free Press, “Check that off the list, right?”
“That’ll be cool. I did not know he was going to be there, but that’ll be super-cool to have the president,” he added. “That’ll be something I’ll be able to tell my kids, I played in front of the president. That’ll be sweet.”
Meanwhile, the Trump dance has made its way into several sporting events.
One of the first players to break out the move in-game was San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa.

The Trump dance is everywhere. Because it’s fun. And funny. Like the Commanders’ season.
