Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin shared a story on how he used his first $1 million check to enhance his sex life during his bachelor days, during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast.

Perhaps not the guy you want to be discussing your sex life with, but I digress.

Anyway, to nobody’s surprise, Irvin used his newfound wealth after making it in the NFL to woo the ladies. As many a bachelor would probably do.

Why he decided to share this story with Sharpe and his millions of listeners, however, is anybody’s guess.

“That check, that first million-dollar check. I left that right there on the table,” Irvin said, explaining his tactic when bringing the women-folk home. “Right in my room, so as soon as they walk in, they say, ‘That’s your check.’”

Michael Irvin’s Story is Hilarious

The story grows ever more amusing as Irvin explains that some folks were not happy that he hadn’t cashed the check and was instead using it to boost his love life.

The one-time member of the famed Triplets and three-time Super Bowl champion then acted out a woman taking her clothes off after seeing the check, then climbing all over Sharpe to punctuate the message.

“I say, yeah, yeah, yeah,” Irvin continued. “I had my finance people calling me, telling me, ‘Send that check, Michael, we’re losing, we’re losing.'”

“I said, ‘Shoot, I’m winning. What you talking about? I’m winning like a… But it’s real, it was real.”

Just being a football player would likely have earned Irvin some sway with the women. But a $1 million check to subtly remind them that he’s got some lettuce in his account might have been the cherry on top.

He’s Winning

Drafted 11th overall by the Cowboys in 1988, Michael Irvin became a key player in their three Super Bowl wins in the 1990s. He was known for both on-field excellence and off-field antics.

Irvin played 12 seasons with the Cowboys, helping make the team a dynasty with his dynamic playmaking. He recorded 750 receptions, 11,904 yards, and 65 touchdowns, earning five Pro Bowl selections and a First-Team All-Pro honor.

Despite his early wild lifestyle, he married Sandy Harrell in 1990. They have remained together for 35 years, raising three children together, as well as one from a previous relationship.

Sharpe, meanwhile, has gotten a reputation for his own wild lifestyle in his post-NFL days. He was fired from ESPN in July, less than two weeks after settling a $50 million rape and sexual assault lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend.

Sharpe accidentally posted audio to his Instagram Live account last September that caught the three-time Super Bowl champion having an intimate encounter.

No word on whether he left a check on the table before that happened.
