Fans were stunned on Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey accidentally juiced one of his team’s cheerleaders right in the dome with a kick. Especially when you consider Aubrey has a cannon for a leg.

But he obviously felt bad about the situation, and he broached the topic to say he’s glad he didn’t hurt her.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Hit By Football

During Sunday’s game, Cowboys cheerleader Michelle Siemienowski was dancing on the sidelines with her fellow cheerleaders when she was suddenly hit in the back of the head with a ball that Aubrey had kicked. The ball hit her so hard right in the cabeza that she wiped out.

Siemienowski was able to quickly get up and smile. However, she noticeably had tears in her eyes as she tried to recover from the hit. Indeed, since Aubrey is currently one of the most talented kickers in the NFL, that blow to the head had to have stung in a big way.

The guy can accurately nail kicks from 65 yards out, people.

“Hopefully she’s alright,” one commentator could be heard saying afterwards. “At least she’s smiling. Those k-balls [kicking balls] are no joke!”

Aubrey Apologizes

It’s since been revealed that after the game, which the Cowboys ultimately lost by a score of 23-19, Aubrey tried to find Siemienowski so that he could personally apologize. When he failed to track her down, Aubrey resorted to leaving her a message on the roster.

“Michelle, so sorry about hitting you on KO!” Aubrey wrote. “Hope you are doing well! Love watching y’all!”

Siemienowski made it clear that she’s forgiven Aubrey when she shared his note to social media.

“This past 24 hours has been a whirlwind!” she wrote alongside a photo of his note. “I got a ton of messages and I wanted to thank you all for checking in and for your kind words! I am all okay, so no need to worry!”

“Also… thank you @baubs10 for this apology note! I was told he wanted to come find me on the field after the incident, but unfortunately I kept moving around the field,” she continued. “He was so kind to write me a note anyways! No hard feelings here! And now I have a souvenir for my last game of my rookie season.”

Aubrey Speaks Out

On Tuesday afternoon, Aubrey publicly addressed the situation for the first time. In an interview with “The Dumb Zone” podcast, Aubrey argued that the “ball wouldn’t have hit her if the camera guy didn’t deflect it.”

Indeed, when watching the footage again, it becomes clear that the ball bounces off the hand of a cameraman before it hits Siemienowski’s head.

“Really, it should be on him,” Aubrey added.

Aubrey went on to talk more about his efforts to find Siemienowski after the game. Find out more about that in his interview below.

While it was certainly terrifying to see a cheerleader be hit with a kick from a kicker as powerful as Aubrey, it seems that all’s well that ends well. Here’s hoping that nothing like this happens again anytime soon!
