It appears ESPN has moved on from the ugly incident involving Jason Kelce and the leftover parts of a Penn State fan’s phone. Even if it is still under investigation.

Kelce, during an appearance with perpetually unfunny late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, revealed that he would be starting his own late-night show for ESPN in early January.

There is no word on whether it will be titled “The Adventures of Yukon Cornelius,” but it should be.

Just kidding. We know the name. The five-episode broadcast, airing at 1 AM with the exception of the finale at 1:30 AM, will be named “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.”

“When I first approached ESPN with potentially working for them and ‘Monday Night Football’ football was a big part of that and ‘Monday Night Countdown,’ I loved late-night shows,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center told Kimmel.

Jason Kelce Gets Himself A New Show

Hopefully, Jason Kelce doesn’t seek out Kimmel for advice on his new talk show. The comedian famously launched his career solely on the strength of a show that featured women on trampolines.

Also, hopefully, he doesn’t have fans in the crowd of his talk show who can bait him into smashing their phones. Although, that would make for pretty good television.

Kelce was harassed and heckled by an obnoxious Penn State earlier this month, even being knocked to the ground at one point. He then smashed the dude’s phone on the ground and traded homophobic slurs with him.

It wasn’t a good look.

Kelce apologized, saying he regretted giving the kid any attention and, most of all, using the same slur.

“Now, it’s out there, and it just perpetuates more hate,” he lamented.

Got Into Another Fan Altercation

Believe it or not, Jason Kelce managed to get into an awkward altercation with a fan coming out of the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Apparently, a fan went berserk after Kelce walked past him without signing an autograph. Like dude, he doesn’t have to sign everything everybody hands him.

“You ain’t nobody special!” the man, who is actually nobody special, said. “You’re some […]bag, […] guy that thinks he’s on some pedestal!”

Kelce handled himself very well in this incident. If it had been me, I would have smashed the guy’s phone.
