In Week 15, the NFL enjoyed impressive viewership numbers thanks to scheduling. Both marquee games were aired simultaneously on CBS and FOX, on a doubleheader late afternoon slot. And that strategy paid handsomely as the viewerships of these games combined approached 40 million.

The NFL doubleheader on Monday Night Football averaged 17.8 million viewers from 8:30 pm to 11:15 pm EST with a peak of 19.4 million viewers from 9pm to 9:15pm EST. Viewership numbers for each game were not shared, but it’s clear from the overlap that it had strong audience interest.

Monday Night Football, which has now brought in nearly 100 million fans in less than two months, is averaging 14.4 million viewers per game through Week 9.
