NFL: NFC Wild Card Round-Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles

Sports fans in Philadelphia are some of the worst, by far, in the country. These are, after all, the same fans who once pelted Santa Claus with snowballs.

And it’s fine to say that, because they revel in it and wear it as a badge of honor.

One Eagles fan, in particular, showed just how extreme some people can get in the City of Brotherly Love. Alexander Basara took video of a fan berating his fiancé during Sunday’s Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers.

Her sin? Being a Packers fan at Lincoln Financial Field.

The fan, later identified as Ryan Caldwell, could be heard dropping some truly trashy comments about the Packer backer, including referring to her as the worst epithet you can think of for a woman.

“Don’t call her a dumb [c-word],” Basara responded.

Caldwell, though, doubled down, repeating, “She is an ugly dumb [c-word].”

Matter of fact, it so pushes the line of good taste and acceptable behavior that I won’t even embed it here. You can take a watch here if you feel the need.

Eagles Fan Gets Some Bad News

What this Eagles fan lacks in intellect, he more than makes up for in chutzpah. The fiancé is clearly recording what he’s doing. Another fan tries tapping him on the shoulder in an attempt to reel it in.

And he just keeps going. He doesn’t care.

Well, maybe he cares now. Caldwell was quickly fired from his job at BCT Partners — a DEI-focused management consulting firm based in East Brunswick, N.J. – after internet sleuths managed to identify him.

Not only was he fired from his job where he reportedly held the title of Project Manager, but he won’t be watching any Eagles home games any time soon.

A local NFL reporter, Derrick Gunn, says, “The guy will be banned from future Eagles games.”

The Couple Handled Themselves Well

To her credit, the woman doesn’t seem very phased by the Eagles fan heckling her, even pretend crying over his insults at one point.

Her future husband recognized that escalating the situation would have been a bad decision.

“It was a tough situation,” Basara wrote on X. “Surrounded by hostile people including 2 of his buddies (one his brother). If I got physical there was no good ending there.”

Their patience is being rewarded.

“The Eagles will be sending the woman Packers gear as an apology,” Gunn reported. “Eagles once again showing what a class organization they are.”

If only their fans were just as classy.
