Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Charles Snowden was arrested for DUI after being found passed out in his running vehicle, which was teetering on a retaining wall, last month.

Police bodycam footage has now been released. It reveals Snowden’s extreme intoxication, including mistakenly thinking he was in Florida when he was in Nevada.

Snowden was found entirely out of it in the driver’s seat of his 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was balancing on the retaining wall with the engine running. The arrest took place following calls about a “suspicious vehicle” in the area.

Police reported that Snowden’s blood-alcohol level was over twice the legal limit, with toxicology tests showing ethanol concentrations of 0.19 and 0.18. The legal limit in Nevada is 0.08%.

The bodycam footage shows a simple visual evaluation probably would have sufficed as evidence.

Bodycam Footage Shows A Severely Intoxicated Charles Snowden

Bodycam footage showed Charles Snowden struggling to stand and mistakenly believing he was in the state of Florida when he was actually in Nevada.

After thinking he was in the Sunshine State, a medic quipped, “Try again.”

Snowden can be heard slurring his words and repeatedly falling asleep on the hood of the police SUV. It was so bad that the arresting officers had no choice but to place him in the back of the squad car.

“We’re going to have to place him in the car,” an officer can be heard saying, “because he’s too drunk to even stand.”

Snowden was charged with a single misdemeanor count.

Three Years After Henry Ruggs

Charles Snowden’s DUI arrest was roughly three years after one of the most infamous drunk driving incidents in NFL history, certainly in Raiders franchise history.

Henry Ruggs III, a former wide receiver for the Raiders, was involved in a fatal DUI crash in November 2021.

The former CFP National Champion was driving his car drunk at speeds up to 156mph on a city street in Las Vegas when he caused a fiery crash that killed a woman and her dog.

Ruggs pleaded guilty in May 2023 to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. He was sentenced to three to ten years in Nevada state prison on August 9, 2023.

Ruggs is currently serving his sentence and working at the Nevada Governor’s Mansion as part of his incarceration duties. He is eligible for parole in August 2026.

Snowden has not commented on his arrest.
