The pop star Taylor Swift was visibly shocked when she was booed during the Super Bowl on Sunday night. She was in the stands supporting her Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce. Unfortunately for them both, his team was handily defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, Kelce’s reaction to the woman he loves being booed has finally been revealed.
Kelce Felt ‘Helpless’
Kelce, 35, reportedly felt “helpless” when he heard Swift, 35, being loudly booed as her face appeared on the jumbotron at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” a source close to Kelce told Daily Mail. “He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”
Aww! What a guy.
“It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts – being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him,” the insider continued. “After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”
Swift Focused On Comforting Kelce
The Chiefs ultimately lost to the Eagles by a score of 40-22. In the wake of this brutal defeat, Swift has reportedly been focused on comforting Kelce. A source close to Swift told Page Six that the singer “knows how hard” Kelce has “worked all season and was thrilled to be at the Super Bowl to show her support.”
“Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome,” this insider added.
As for what’s next for the couple, the source said that they “are looking forward to enjoying some downtime.”
“They knew that Taylor’s Eras Tour would be wrapping in December and football season would be coming to an end now so they had planned for this time to focus on some alone time to just be together,” the insider explained.
And while it may be hard to lose the Super Bowl, Kelce already has a ton of hardware to show for his Hall of Fame career to comfort him.

Swift And Kelce Will ‘Take Some Time Away’
The source went on to say that Swift and Kelce want to lay low for a bit. Indeed, they “are looking forward to getting away from all the distractions and being by themselves.”
“Taylor and Travis are going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future and just relax,” the insider concluded.
Forgive us for being a little skeptical that the pair can manage to stay out of the limelight for any period of time!
Sunday night marked the second Super Bowl in a row that Swift got to cheer her boyfriend on. Last year’s Super Bowl was a much happier one, however. In that game, the Chiefs actually came out on top over the San Francisco 49ers. Indeed, Swift and Kelce will undoubtedly look back at these two Super Bowls as starkly different experiences. This is surely the case for them, both from the stands and on the field.
