Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves proposed to his girlfriend, Mikaela Worley, right after securing a playoff berth with an exciting overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

They say timing is everything, right?

Having clinched their first playoff spot since 2020 in the come-from-behind victory, Reaves decided to make the moment even more special.

Still in his game uniform, the five-year veteran dashed over to Mikaela on the sideline. He got down on one knee in front of cheering fans and teammates, presenting her with an engagement ring.

She was visibly moved and accepted his proposal, leading to an outpouring of joy from the crowd and congratulations from his team.

The entire moment was caught on video and quickly went viral. Everybody now – let’s hear those “Awwwwws!”

Jeremy Reaves And The Commanders Get A Playoff Spot, And A Little More

Reaves, who has been with the Commanders since being elevated to their active roster in 2018, has had a remarkable journey in the NFL.

From going undrafted, to being a final cut in four straight NFL seasons, to earning accolades like First-team All-Pro and Pro-Bowl honors in 2022.

His personal life has seen its share of challenges. Mikaela has stood by him through injuries, including a partially torn ACL in 2023. Reaves has seen limited playing time this season but has taken part in 16 games for Washington.

As the Commanders look forward to the playoffs, Reaves and Worley now have their own journey ahead. One that started with a beautiful engagement on the very field where he and the Commanders have been chasing other dreams.

Washington’s Magical Season

While Reaves and his now fiancée are starting a magical journey of their own, the Washington Commanders have been on a crazy ride all season.

The 2024 season for the Commanders has been nothing short of spectacular. It marks their first winning season since 2016, as they currently boast an impressive 11-5 record.

Under the leadership of new head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters, the team has not only revitalized its performance but also its spirit, bringing a new era of hope to the franchise and its fans.

Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been a revelation, showing exceptional promise and leadership, earning him the title of Offensive Rookie of the Month for September and setting new benchmarks for rookie performances. During the second half of the game against the Falcons, Daniels broke former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III’s NFL record for the most rushing yards in a rookie season for a quarterback.

The season has been highlighted by memorable games, including a stunning comeback against the Philadelphia Eagles and a game-winning Hail Mary against the Chicago Bears.

With this turnaround, the Washington Commanders are not just happy to be at the show again, they are actual playoff contenders.
