Houston Texans rookie Quarterback C.J. Stroud once again praised God who he describes as being “at the forefront” during his recent playoff success, even after NBC literally censored a reference to Jesus in his post-game comments this past Saturday.

In his first playoff game, C.J. Stroud put on a masterclass, completing 76.2% of his passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns. This performance earned him an 82.8 PFF grade and helped lead the Texans to a 45-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
It wasn’t simply a good performance for the rookie – it was record-setting.
He tied the rookie playoff record with three touchdown passes in the first half. His 236 passing yards in the first half are also a new rookie postseason record. His 157.2 passer rating is the fifth-highest in a playoff game all time, according to Pro Football Reference.
During a post-game press conference, Stroud offered praise for God and insisted the Almighty is “at the forefront” of his mind as he continues to achieve new heights in the NFL.
“It’s been a blessing. It’s been a heck of a year. I thank God I can just go another week with my teammates,” he said. “This is like a dream come true as a reminder of how close we are as a team.”
“I think definitely God is at the forefront of our minds, and we play for an audience of One. Even when everything is going crazy, you can lock hands and have patience,” he continued. “I’m blessed enough to have a leader like (Head Coach) DeMeco (Ryans) who is open with his faith.”
“It’s hard. People hold you to a standard, and that’s what we want as Christians. You know we’re holding our own crosses and we’re trying to be like Christ as much as possible.”
Isn’t it something to see a young NFL player stand up for something bigger than himself, as opposed to those who kneel in an effort to bring attention to themselves?

C.J. Stroud’s praise for God continued in the post-game press conference even as NBC was under scrutiny for very literally editing out his on-field comments about Jesus.
There is no debate that NBC did this intentionally on a social media post.
In the full clip, sideline reporter Melissa says: “Your first NFL season and a record-setting performance for you. What does this moment mean?”
Stroud immediately replies, “First of all, I just want to give all glory and praise to my lord and savior, Jesus Christ.”
“I mean, it’s been amazing being in this city for as short as I’ve been but the love that I’ve got. I’ve really just been doing it for Houston, man,” he added. “The people back home, I’m blessed enough to be in the position that I’m in and blessed enough to be playing at a high level right now. We gotta just keep it going, but I’m super blessed.”

It’s not even a subtle edit either. You can see they’ve cut something out from his response just by watching.
Next up for the Texans and C.J. Stroud will be the #1 seed Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 3:30 PM Central Time at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
The Ravens are currently a 9-point favorite.
