Robert Griffin III sounds like he’s ready to talk about his firing from ESPN, providing cryptic posts that ‘answers’ are coming soon.

ESPN fired both Griffin (RG3) and Sam Ponder in what the network described as a business decision aimed at cutting costs. Both had significant remaining time on their contracts.

RG3, a former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, joined ESPN in 2021 and had been part of their college football and NFL coverage, including Monday Night Countdown, until he was recently replaced by Jason Kelce.

Sam Ponder, who has been with ESPN since 2011, was the host of Sunday NFL Countdown.

Both firings are shrouded in controversy. Critics have suggested Ponder’s release was motivated by her comments about biological males competing in women’s sports.

Griffin meanwhile, seems to be suggesting there is more to his story as well.

Robert Griffin III Vows To Answer Questions About ESPN Firing

Robert Griffin III responded to his firing by ESPN in a social media post. He offered thanks to his fans for their support during this trying time.

“As I sit here with my family on this beautiful day, we are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from you guys over the last past 72+ hours,” he wrote.

“I’ll be sitting down soon to chat with YOU, so make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel, drop all your questions here and under my latest video and I’ll be answering them soon.”

Griffin reiterated in a separate post that, “Questions (will be) answered here soon.”

When will ‘soon’ be? That’s anybody’s guess. But Ponder and Griffin discussing their firing from ESPN has the potential to be pretty interesting.

Offer Cryptic Post About Selling His Soul

In a previous post following the firing from ESPN, Robert Griffin III offered a rather cryptic clue as to what might have happened behind the scenes.

Even though he was pulled off Monday Night Countdown in favor of Kelce, it was still widely believed RG3 would continue covering college football for ESPN. After all, he’s a Heisman winner.

With that season right around the corner, his dismissal was certainly a shock.

“Nothing in this world is worth selling your soul for,” Griffin wrote over the weekend.

What was he asked to do by ESPN? What sacrifices might he have been forced into even beyond his release from Monday Night Countdown?

Hopefully, we’ll get some answers soon.
