Swifties are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shooting his shot with the singer Taylor Swift on his New Heights podcast.
Kelce Shoots His Shot
Friday marks the one year anniversary of Kelce revealing to his older brother Jason that he’d tried and failed to give Swift his number during the Missouri stop on her Eras Tour.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he said.
“So, I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he added.
Kelce went on to explain that he wanted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. When his brother asked if he meant his jersey number or his phone number, Kelce replied, “You know which one.”
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me,” he continued. “So, I took it personal.”

Swifties Celebrate Anniversary
After the above clip went viral, Swift changed her mind and contacted Kelce. The rest, as they say, is history, and they’ve been a couple ever since!
On Friday, Swifties took to social media to celebrate the one year anniversary of this event.
“Forever thankful for friendship bracelets, New Heights and Jason being an inquisitive big brother,” one social media user wrote. Another added, “Travis ‘very adorably put [Taylor] on blast on his podcast’ exactly one year ago and the rest is history.”
“Well Travis, You knew what you wanted and boy, you got her,” a third Swiftie commented. Another fan described this as a “real life romantic comedy.”
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in September of 2023, when she was spotted in the stands at his team’s game against the Chicago Bears. She became a mainstay at his games from then on, cheering on the Chiefs all the way to their Super Bowl victory in February.
“We started hanging out right after [the podcast episode],” Swift previously said of their relationship.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she continued. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Kelce Is Loving Life With Swift
Kelce has been enjoying his relationship with Swift. Throughout his offseason, he traveled around the world to watch her perform during the international legs of her Eras Tour. Kelce attended her shows during stops in South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe.
Last month, Kelce was asked by Good Morning America, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how good is Travis Kelce’s life these days?”
“20? 100? Man, I’m so fortunate and so grateful for everything that’s come my way in life,” he replied.
Thank goodness Kelce had the guts to shoot his shot with Swift one year ago today. We wish them both many years of happiness to come!
