Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady was on the receiving end of a celebrity roast earlier this month. It aired live on Netflix and was hosted by Kevin Hart.

A veteran of the celebrity roast circuit, Jeff Ross also appeared. The same can be said about several b-list Hollywood types as well as Brady’s former teammates with the New England England Patriots.

It was vulgar. It touched on everything from Brady’s ill-fated marriage to model Gisele Bündchen and the downfall of Aaron Hernandez to Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s affinity for “massages.”

In particular, Brady took exception to Ross roasting Kraft. We almost had a Will Smith moment on Netflix. Seriously.

We’re now hearing a bit more about the roast from Brady. The GOAT is also telling on himself by pretty much admitting he’s never watched a celebrity roast before. It really is something.

“It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world,” Tom Brady said, via The Pivot podcast. “So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naive you don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s–t!’”

What in the world did Brady think was going to happen? We’re talking Jeff Ross and Nikki Glaser taking part in the roast. Again, has he ever watched one of these before signing up?

But for Brady, it was pretty much all about his children. He said that the roast had an impact on them.

“I loved when the jokes were about me,” Brady said. “I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that affected my kids.”

To be fair, Brady didn’t get upset when he the subject of the roast. But that’s neither here nor there. He had to know what was going to happen. After all …

One thing is rather clear. We’ve probably seen the last of Brady on the roast circuit.
