Travis Kelce has been a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013. As he heads into his eleventh season with the team, he’s speaking out to reveal the one scenario in which he’d leave the Chiefs to play for someone else.
Travis Reveals One Way He’d Leave The Chiefs
“I’m waiting for that team to play for another team other than the Chiefs,” Travis, 34, said on his “New Heights” podcast with retired NFL star brother Jason, 36. “That’s the only situation is if I get to play abroad.”
This shocked many of Travis’ fans. He later took to social media to clarify what he meant with his comments.
“Let’s be honest, I’d never leave the Chiefs… but playing in London sounds fun,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Travis And Jason Make London Prediction
Travis and Jason filmed this podcast episode in London. They were in the European city to attend a concert by Taylor Swift, Travis’ girlfriend.
Travis went so far as to predict that a new team could be added to the NFL from outside of the United States.
“Less than ten years,” he said. “I don’t know for a fact it’s London.”
“[But] I mean, it’s where we’ve been playing for the most overseas,” he added.
Jason Responds
Jason replied by agreeing that London would be the first non-U.S. city to get a football team.
“If there’s an NFL team, the first city it’s coming to is London,” he said. “I’ll go on record for that.”
“There’s the most amount of fans here [outside the US],” he continued. “There’s the biggest appetite in London, it’s a major market. The only other cities it would also be in would be, like, I know Germany has a lot of NFL fans. So probably a German team, I’d assume Munich or Berlin.”
In order for Travis to be on that potential London team, however, it would have to happen fast. He is set to turn 35 in October.
Even so, Travis is still just as talented on the field as ever. Last season, he had 93 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns, according to The New York Post. He also added 32 receptions for 355 yards with three scores during the playoffs. Travis later helped the Chiefs win their second consecutive Super Bowl crown and third since 2019.
Heading into this season, the Chiefs are hoping to become the first team to win three straight Lombardi Trophies in the Super Bowl era. The last team that was able to win three titles in a row was the 1965-67 Packers, which happened before the merger.

Travis Travels The World
When he isn’t playing football, Travis enjoys traveling the world to support Taylor on her Eras Tour. He’s attended her concert stops in cities in South America, Australia, Asia, and now Europe.
One of the highlights of the London stop for the Kelce brothers was meeting Prince William and his oldest two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
“We met royalty, guys,” Travis said on his podcast. “There was royalty at the show. I got there early and got to meet Prince William. How bout that? Your Royal Highness.”
It’s clear that Travis has London on the brain right now. It will certainly be interesting to see if London does ever get a team, and if Travis can be lured away from the Chiefs!
