Get the champagne ready? Kansas City Chiefs’ long snapper James Winchester is speaking out this week to predict that his teammate Travis Kelce, who he’s played with since 2015, will get engaged to singer Taylor Swift.
Winchester Sounds Off On Kelce And Swift
“I can definitely see it, yeah,” Winchester told the “Like a Farmer Podcast” when asked if Kelce and Swift will get engaged.
After being around Kelce for nine years, Winchester can see the similarities between him and Swift.
“They’re very similar in a lot of ways,” he explained. “I wish the best for them. I’m going to go with what our kicker Harrison Butker said, ‘I hope you guys get married and have a lot of kids.'”
Winchester went on to say that Kelce and Swift’s romance, which they went public with in September of last year, has been an “overall positive deal” for the Chiefs and for the people of Kansas City in general.
“I couldn’t be happier for them,” he continued. He added that he’s become a fan of Swift’s since news of the romance broke.
Contrary to what some people believed during the last NFL season, Winchester said that the hoopla surrounding Swift attending Chiefs games wasn’t a “distraction” for the team.
“For us, it was great. It wasn’t a distraction,” he said.

Swift Is ‘Such A Genuine Person’
After getting to know Swift personally over the past few months, Winchester described her as being “such a genuine person.”
Going back to last summer, Winchester recalled that he didn’t initially believe rumors of a romance between Swift and Kelce until she attended her first Chiefs game back in August. It was only the next month that Swift and Kelce announced their relationship to the world.
Swift and Kelce spent the last few months together as he enjoyed his off-season following his team’s Super Bowl win and she took a break from her Eras tour, which resumed in Paris, France earlier this week. Kelce will reportedly be joining Swift in Europe at some point as she continues this leg of her tour, according to The New York Post.

Kelce Staying Busy
Kelce has previously attended Swift’s shows in Singapore, Sydney, Buenos Aires, and in Kansas City (of course), according to People Magazine. He will soon need to turn his attention to his upcoming NFL season, however. Last month, Kelce signed a contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs that will see him make $17 million a year, making him the highest paid tight end in the league.
Off the field, Kelce has been busy filming as host of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, which is a new game show spinoff of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? that will stream on Amazon Prime video. It was also announced earlier this week that Kelce will be getting his first acting job, as he will be joining the cast of Ryan Murphy’s new FX series, Grotesquerie.
Kelce and Swift are both 34 years-old, and neither of them have ever been married before. It will certainly be interesting to see if Winchester is correct in predicting that they will end up walking down the aisle!
