Brian White, an American soccer player currently on the roster for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the MLS, took a subtle jab at Canadian fans for continuing to disrespect “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Canadian fans, who have nothing to do in their spare time – Eh? – have focused their rage on America since President Donald Trump for teasing them about the country possibly becoming the 51st state.
They’ve done so by interrupting the playing of the national anthem during sporting events, which totally makes up for the fact that they live in a country whose main export is maple syrup.
It began with the playing of the anthem at the 4 Nations Face-Off hockey exhibition, prompting Team USA to fight with the opposing team three times in 9 seconds, and has now spilled over to the pitch.

Brian White Hits Back At Disrespectful Canadian Soccer Fans
Brian White, who is a striker for the Whitecaps, guided home a perfect header in the 87th minute in his team’s 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy.
The New Jersey native then addressed the crowd after the game.
“I would like to say thank you to the fans that cheered and clapped the anthem at the end and showed respect for the flag,” he told reporters. “Obviously there’s issues. It’s not my business, and I’ll leave it at that.”
The building’s public address announcer had asked fans to respect the United States national anthem, but they couldn’t help themselves. White is right. Show some respect, Canucks.

It Needs To Stop
First, MLS is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation. Meaning, as with most things sports, Canada wouldn’t even have their three little footy clubs if it weren’t for Big Brother to the South.
Second, you’re Canada. Your Navy consists of two ships and a canoe. How’s about we dial back the national anthem hatred until you finally go Pinocchio and become a real country? Sheesh.
I kid because I care.
Over the weekend, the ‘Terrance and Phillip’ crowd also booed the national anthem during WWE’s Elimination Chamber. Commentator Pat McAfee nuked the crowd for their behavior.
“It kind of sucks that it’s in the terrible country of Canada that booed our national anthem to start this entire thing,” he said.
Brian White and the Whitecaps will next take on Monterrey this Wednesday in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16.
