Bend it like Beckham? In the Oval Office? Well, maybe not so much. But it’s pretty hilarious nonetheless.

President Trump hosted Cristiano Ronaldo at the White House this week as part of a delegation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Ronaldo posed for photos with several big names and attended a state dinner.

Following the visit, Trump shared an AI-generated video on Truth Social depicting the two playfully kicking a soccer ball around the Oval Office. There were headers, keep-ups, dribbles, and fancy footwork as the room transforms into a pitch.

The President sometimes finds himself in trouble when he posts AI videos of his political adversaries. But this one is refreshing, light-hearted, and entertaining.

You gotta love it.

Trump loves Cristiano Ronaldo

The humorous clip begins with a ball dropping from the ceiling and hitting President Trump on the head. It ends with him kicking it toward the viewer and shattering the screen.

Both men are grinning throughout, a clear sign that it was created with AI. Trump captioned the post praising Cristiano Ronaldo as a “GREAT GUY” who is “really smart, and cool.”

Trump, in a speech at the White House the same day as the soccer (yes, I used football in the headline as a show of respect for our friends across the pond) legend’s visit, was also offering praise. They’re bros, bro.

“This room is loaded up with the biggest leaders in the world, business, sports,” Trump said.

“You know, my son is a big fan of Ronaldo—wherever Ronaldo is here—and Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you,” he joked. “So I just want to thank you both for being here. Thank you very much, really.”

And vice versa

It’s clear Trump—and Barron, for that matter—love Cristiano Ronaldo. But is the feeling mutual? It sure seems to be.

Ronaldo, who was making his first U.S. visit in nearly a decade, expressed his admiration for the President in an interview earlier this month, saying he can “help to change the world.”

The soccer star also set social media on fire with a selfie of himself alongside some of the world’s most powerful figures at the White House.

You know what makes that selfie so great? It’s reminiscent of that one from those celebrities many years ago. You know, the one that broke the internet then, but now consists of people nobody really gives a rip about anymore? Ellen DeGeneres, whatever happened to that dude anyway?

Back to the present day, we hope the bromance between President Trump and Cristiano Ronaldo keeps going. They could accomplish so much together as the United States prepares to host World Cup games in 2026.
