Former NCAA swimmer and advocate for women’s sports, Kaitlynn Wheeler, hammered one-time ESPN sportscaster Keith Olbermann after he hit her with a personal insult about her athleticism.

To be clear, Olbermann has the athletic ability of a potato. Yet he still felt the need to go after Wheeler, a former teammate of Riley Gaines at the University of Kentucky.

Wheeler and Gaines (sounds like a law firm) had to share a locker room with and compete against Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA championships. Thomas is a biological male pretending to be a female. Thomas and Gaines finished in an exact tie for fifth in the 200-yard freestyle event at the time, and they had to share a podium.

Who can forget that image, really?

Now, the two women stand united against biological males competing in women’s sports, an overwhelming 90/10 issue. In fact, Wheeler celebrated a women’s rights rally outside the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this week during oral arguments in two cases involving men in women’s sports.

And for that, Olbermann balled up his little fist and let out his usual rage.

Olbermann Unleashes on Wheeler, Probably Regrets It

Suffice it to say, Olbermann is a big supporter of males competing in female sports. And he likes to attack the women who oppose it. Because he’s a misogynistic tool.

“It’s still about you trying to find an excuse for a lifetime wasted trying to succeed in sports without talent,” he responded to Wheeler.

Unfortunately for Keith, however, he didn’t do his homework. At all. Wheeler has earned All-SEC First Team honors and is an SEC champion in the 800m free relay. She’s got talent. A lot more than Keith ever did.

She first fired back on X, saying, “@KeithOlbermann you got fired… repeatedly, I might add.”

“Making a career out of trolling women online is an…interesting career pivot for a gross old man. Meanwhile, we’re out here actually making a difference for girls,” she wrote. “We are not the same.”

Solid retort. But it was Wheeler’s response to Fox News Digital that finished off the unemployable Olbermann.

“When women refuse to be silent, angry old men like Keith Olbermann lash out. That doesn’t bother me. It proves why this fight matters. We’re fighting for fairness. He’s fighting to stay relevant,” she said.

Throw the damn towel!

Gaines Previously Took Some Shots

This isn’t the first time Olbermann has been absolutely steamrolled after attacking a female athlete. Gaines herself has made a joke out of the angry old man yelling at clouds.

“He still lives with his mom in her basement,” she said in an interview with Joe Rogan. “I had to ask my dad, ‘Who is this guy?’ I don’t even know who he is.”

Nobody does anymore. And that’s why it’s a joy to watch this takedown.

Keep in mind that, while he likes to mock women who have accomplished something in sports, Keith has never played a sport in his life.

The one time he actually tried to pull off an athletic feat of any kind was in 1980, when, after watching a Mets game at the old Shea Stadium, he tried to leap onto a subway, only to hit his head so hard that he was rendered unable to drive.

Keith must enjoy getting smacked around. Since strong women continue slapping him back to reality.
