Instead of asking why their kids can’t read write, or seem to understand basic math, parents and supporters of LeBron James’ I Promise School in Akron, OH, arrived in force at a local school board meeting to instead chastise the district for releasing the results showing that the students have some of the worst test scores your could possibly imagine; or in politically correct terms, “discouraging” results.

The I Promise school, which is supported by LeBron James’ foundation in Akron, Ohio has been facing poor test scores for over three years, including a reported lack of any 8th graders passing state math standards. So in order to start pointing the blame to anything other than their own shortcomings, they’re attempting to salvage their reputation by blaming the COVID-19 pandemic.

Basketball legend LeBron James’ backed I Promise School in Akron, Ohio isn’t living up to the reputation of the celebrity-athlete who has put his time and resources into it, and the test scores prove that.
