By now, everyone with a pulse knows that Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark is a legend on the basketball court. She may not have any championships to her name, but her recent loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks clearly isn’t impacting her confidence or her mood.
On April 15, she’ll hear her name called in the 2024 WNBA Draft, where she’ll become the first overall pick by the Indiana Fever. But on Saturday, she was at the Rockefeller Plaza to entertain fans during a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Clark’s SNL appearance came during the ‘Weekend Update’ portion of the show, alongside co-anchor Michael Che. If you weren’t sure if Clark had a sense of humor before, she made sure to erase all doubts by absolutely roasting Che, who doubles as a stand-up comedian himself.
Here’s the clip of Clark’s SNL sketch.
Did you know Caitlin Clark had these kinds of skills on top of being one of women’s basketball’s best players?
Seeing Clark bust out jokes and taking shots at Michael Che is the second-best thing we’ve ever seen from the Iowa icon next to her Stephen Curry-like rainbow 3s from near halfcourt. It’s all fun and games now, but once she joins the WNBA, expect Clark’s focus to be on trying to win a championship. Still, we appreciate her taking the time to lighten the mood a bit, even though internally, she’s likely still trying to overcome the unfortunate end to her Iowa basketball career.
