Caitlin Clark’s rookie season in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever has been marked by exceptional statistical performances. And she’s breaking records at an exceptionally high rate.
She has consistently set new benchmarks, not just for rookie guards, but for every player in the league.
Clark has achieved several notable feats, including the first-ever rookie triple-double.
Despite a challenging start with a tough schedule, her play has significantly improved, leading the Fever to a competitive position in the league standings.
Above all else, Caitlin Clark has been a record-breaker in her inaugural season. Much as she was throughout her college career at Iowa.
Here are some of the records she has shattered as she makes a push for Rookie of the Year.
Rookie Assists Record
Clark broke the WNBA record for most assists by a rookie in a season, previously held by Ticha Penicheiro, during a game against the Seattle Storm on August 18, 2024.
Clark surpassed Penicheiro’s record of 225 assists in her 28th game of the season.
This record-breaking performance was buoyed by her contribution of 23 points and nine total assists in the Indiana Fever’s 92-75 victory.
Assists in a Game
Caitlin Clark set a new WNBA record for the most assists in a single game with 19 during a match against the Dallas Wings on July 17, 2024. This achievement surpassed the previous record of 18 assists held by Courtney Vandersloot.
Despite her record-breaking performance, the Indiana Fever lost to the Dallas Wings with a final score of 101-93.
Triple-Double as a Rookie
The Indiana Fever guard became the first rookie in WNBA history to secure a triple-double in a game against the New York Liberty on July 6, 2024.
The rookie sensation scored 19 points, dished out 13 assists, and grabbed 12 boards in her team’s 83-78 victory over the New York Liberty.
Clark achieved the milestone after falling just one rebound short of a triple-double a week earlier in her team’s win against Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury.

Points, Assists, and Threes in a Season
Caitlin Clark achieved another historic milestone in the WNBA on August 24, 2024. In a game against the Minnesota Lynx, she became the first player to reach 520 points, 240 assists, and 81 three-pointers in a single season.
She contributed 23 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in a losing effort.
Fastest to 400 Points And 200 Assists
Clark achieved a historic milestone in the league by becoming the fastest player to reach 400 points and 200 assists. She accomplished this feat in just 26 games this season.
This record-breaking performance surpassed the previous mark set by Sue Bird, who achieved it in 33 games.
Clark’s rapid accumulation of points and assists highlights her exceptional scoring and playmaking abilities. She not only scores at a tremendous rate, but she helps her teammates score at a tremendous and efficient rate.
Most Threes By A Rookie
Clark tied the rookie record for the most threes made by a first-year player after knocking down her fourth triple in a game against the Atlanta Dream on August 26th.
She drained the shot over Rhyne Howard … who previously held the record!
All-Star Votes
Caitlin Clark garnered a record-breaking 700,735 votes for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, surpassing the previous high by a significant margin. It was a testament to her immense popularity and impact on the league.
This achievement not only highlighted her as the top vote-getter but also underscored a monumental increase in fan engagement. Her vote count alone exceeded the combined total of the top vote-getters from the previous season.
Last year’s leading vote-getter, A’ja Wilson, managed to garner 95,860 votes.
Assists For A Rookie In The All-Star Game
Although Clark struggled from the field in that game, she rewarded all those fans who voted for her by setting a rookie All-Star game record with 10 assists.
She finished just one assist shy of Sue Bird’s overall record in an All-Star game.
Turnovers in a Season
Not all of the records broken by Caitlin Clark have been of the positive variety. The Fever guard has had her share of growing pains as a rookie. Perhaps that’s what makes her so scary – that there’s still room for improvement.
Clark broke the record for the most turnovers in a season, highlighting her aggressive playstyle where she attempts high-risk, high-reward passes. She’s like the Brett Favre of the WNBA.
How many more records will she break before the season is over with? How far will she exceed those that she’s already broken?
We can’t wait to see how things end up for the phenom when all is said and done.
