Angel Reese offered a two-word response to a video from a supporter wildly claiming fans of Caitlin Clark wanted their favorite player to be the “face of racism so bad”.
“Thank you,” she wrote in response to the clip on Instagram.
The post comes via a fan named “theluncheonlawyer”. Her shtick appears to be providing commentary bordering on the unhinged.
The fact that Reese praised the video says something about the Chicago Sky player’s mindset when it comes to fans of Clark.
“They wanted her to be the face of racism so bad. The whole time, she just wanted to play basketball, get her sponsorships and go home. Turns out, she doesn’t want to be the brand ambassador for hatred,” the person states in the video.
“This really confirms a lot of people were never Caitlin Clark fans. You were just Angel Reese haters,” she adds. “You didn’t care about Caitlin Clark’s skills. You liked that she was a white woman performing exceptionally in a sport dominated by black women.”
In a separate post, she notes that not all Caitlin Clark fans are like that, but just the ones “now backing out.” Whatever that means.
Angel Reese Doubles Down Support Of Video Accusing Caitlin Clark Fans Of Racism
It appears Angel Reese also provided a comment to the same video posted on a different social media platform. “theluncheonlawyer” also posted their video commentary on TikTok.
Reese, according to Outkick, wrote in the comments section: “you left no crumbsssss.”
The phrase essentially supports the video in the affirmative, saying the commenter “killed it” in regards to their take.
Always The Victim, Never The Victor
Of course, we didn’t need to see Angel Reese’s responses to this abhorrent video to know what her feelings are towards Caitlin Clark fans.
She said as much in her debut podcast episode, “Unapologetically Angel”.
In it, she accuses the Indiana Fever star’s fans of racism, death threats, and stalking.
“I think it’s really just the fans, her fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans, that are really just, they ride for her, and I respect that, respectfully. But sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it,” Reese said.
Caitlin Clark, by contrast, rarely if ever comments on Angel Reese’s fans in a negative light. Though, there is certainly an argument to be made that there is an equal amount of racism placed in her direction.
