Yesterday, we reported that a man had been arrested for stalking the Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Now, it’s been revealed that the alleged stalker had a meltdown in court on Tuesday morning.
Clark’s Stalker Sounds Off
Michael Thomas Lewis, 55, had multiple outbursts in court today. Indeed, he proudly declared that he is “guilty as charged” before a judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
“Throw me the booky!” Lewis shouted at one point. He later exclaimed, “I’m free! I guess you got the wrong guy!”
Lewis also complained that his name didn’t include a “Jr.” in court records.
Undeterred, Marion County Superior Court Judge Angela Davis read out the charges that Lewis “terrorized, frightened, or threatened” Clark and caused a “reasonable fear of sexual battery.”
“Can I say something?” Lewis replied. Judge Davis immediately shut him down by saying, “Not yet.”
When asked if he suffers from mental illness, Lewis replied, “I need my medicines.”
When asked if he resides in Texas, Lewis responded, “Sort of, I live in my vehicle.”
Clark’s alleged stalker then said that he has $100 in savings. He added that his car, a 2016 Toyota Avalon, is worth “ballpark 10 grand.”

Lewis Banned From Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Lewis signed court orders dictating that he stay away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home arena of the Indiana Fever, and to have no contact with Clark. He has also been banned from entering Hinkle Fieldhouse, where Clark’s boyfriend, Butler University assistant basketball coach Connor McCaffery, is employed.
“If you violate stay away or no contact orders, the court will revoke your bond,” Judge Davis said.
The judge ordered that Lewis be held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Lewis, however, made it clear that he has no plans to post bail.
“I don’t want bond, bail, whatever,” he said. “I’m here. I’m staying.”
Lewis’ Arrest
Lewis has been charged with one count of stalking. He’s been accused of engaging in a “course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of Caitlin Clark that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized.”
Lewis was arrested on Sunday at a hotel in Indianapolis. His arrest stems from messages he allegedly sent to Clark on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, from December 16 through January 2.
“Been driving around your house 3x a day,” Lewis reportedly messaged Clark. “But don’t call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.”
“I’m getting tickets. I’m sitting behind the bench,” he allegedly added in a separate message. In a third, he’s accused of writing, “They said I was sending threatening texts..but the only though on my mind was….CAITLIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN.”
Court documents allege that other messages that Lewis sent to Clark were sexually violent. Indeed, Clark told police that she feared for her safety. She took the threat seriously enough to alter her public appearances due to fears of Lewis.
Thankfully, the FBI tracked the IP address of Lewis’ messages to a hotel in Indianapolis. When police then performed a welfare check on Lewis, he told them that he is in “an imaginary relationship” with Clark. He added that he came to Indianapolis on vacation. Officers told Lewis to “not post things like he has been posting … because his posts can be perceived as threatening.”
Despite this, the messages to Clark continued.
This has clearly been a deeply disturbing ordeal for Clark. It sure ain’t easy being famous.
