Tom Brady downs drone with football throw in Mr. Beast challenge | TODAY

NFL living legend Tom Brady doesn’t appear to have developed any rust in the six months since he announced he was retiring “for good” from the game. The seven-time Super Bowl champion may not be suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers anymore, but he let a certain flying object know that he can still throw rockets.

Brady was relaxing on a yacht with YouTube superstar MrBeast when the QB-to-robot connection was made. So, he decided to put the future Hall of Famer and all-time great on the hot seat.

MrBeast had a drone circling the yacht, and he said that he wanted to see if Brady could knock it down by throwing a football from the watercraft.

It would be somewhat of a nod to the stunt pulled by TB12 and Rob Gronkowski, when they tossed the Lombardi Trophy from one boat to the other on Tampa Bay, following their Super Bowl victory.

Brady then made an unofficial challenge to himself:

‘If I hit it on the first try, maybe I should come out of retirement,” Tom Brady said, before nailing the flying object.

The 45-year-old’s throw was eerily similar to the ones he used to hurl to Wes Welker in New England and, later, Mike Evans in Tampa Bay – a perfect strike.

Brady hit the robot with a heat-seeking spiral from several yards away. It was proof enough for Mr. Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, to implore TB12 to maybe give it a go on the gridiron again.

Tom Brady, who played 23 seasons for the Pats and Bucs, is a five-time Super Bowl MVP, after arriving in the NFL as a longshot, sixth-round pick. He would go on to become the best quarterback in the history of pro football, and potentially the greatest overall player ever.

Although he officially called it quits on his career back in February, there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether the ageless wonder might still have one more round in him. That’s probably because he has notoriously retired – and then promptly unretired – in the past.

That’s been peppered with other stories, including the notion that he might forego his deal to begin doing commentary for FOX Sports beginning in 2024. And there’s also the stories that he could very well become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. So, he’s definitely kept his name on the collective brain of the football universe.

But it’s thoughts of the old man taking just a few more snaps that will always lead to sudden speculation. And it likely will for a few years, until his career is safely in the sunset for not only the forecasters, but the other teams in the League as well.
