In the midst of the Hamas attacks on Israel, many stars of the sporting world have weighed in on the subject or pledged money and aid to the embattled nation. Miami Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa followed suit, speaking about the tragic assault following his team’s dissection of the Carolina Panthers, 42-21.

Tua had another stellar day, throwing for 262 passing yards and three touchdown passes, but he wanted to make sure he touched on a topic that’s much more important than football. He spoke openly and passionately about the tragic events that have unfolded in the Middle East and extended his heartfelt concern for the innocent victims of the attack. It’s been reported that 1,400 Israelis were killed during the Hamas ambush, but hundreds of remains have yet to be identified

“I kind of want to also just bring to the attention — I didn’t really realize how bad things were in Israel, and just wanted to bring to attention for those who don’t necessarily understand things that are going on, that it really is bad,” Tagovailoa said. “And if you don’t understand – if you go on Google, you look, you search, and you read about – what’s going on in this world.”

“This world needs prayer. I don’t know what we’ve come to, but you know, just my thoughts, my prayers are out with those people in Israel.”

“I know the Ukraine and Russia war is still going on as well, and just wanted to bring notice that, although we have the freedom to do this here – (To) play football and be able to have the freedom to do these things – that to come back into reality and think that’s where we all are here in this world,” Tua then drifted a bit in his deep thoughts. “So just want to bring that to the attention…”

“Hopefully, we all come together and can pray for the kids, the children, the wives, the women, and the men that are putting themselves out there every day for those unfortunate events that are happening right now.”

Spoken like a true team leader. That’s what Tua has become now in his fourth NFL season after being drafted by the Dolphins with the fifth overall selection in the 2020 Draft. He’s stepped up his game, guiding the top offense in The League right now. He will next lead first-place Miami (5-1) into Philadelphia to face the NFC East-leading Eagles (5-1) in what could be a potential Super Bowl preview.
