Over the years, the rivalries in the AFC West have often been brutal. NFL lore is filled with chapters about the battles between the Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos that have left plenty of blood on the field and broken hearts in the process. Often, those battles can spill into the stands and erupt between their respective fan bases. And that appeared to be the case this weekend when a Raiders fan got an up-close look at the fist of a Chargers backer.

The punch sent the Raiders fan to the ground. When he got up, he was hit by another couple of punches. Eventually, the Herbert fan pushed the guy down several rows of stairs. A fellow Raiders fan finally stepped in to help him before further damage was done.

It’s not been reported whether the Chargers follower was escorted out of SoFi Stadium, or if any assault charges were pressed. Round two between the two teams (and their fan bases) will take place on December 14 in Las Vegas.
