The Tuohy family, who once considered Michael Oher to be a part of their own and helped propel him to the NFL and international stardom through the book-turned-film The Blind Side, are coming out with more details regarding how Oher turned from someone they cared deeply about into a full-on publicity nightmare.

According to a new report from Fox News, the Tuohys claim that the former Ravens player threatened to “defame them on social media and/or TMZ as ‘fakes’ or ‘thieves’ if his money demands weren’t met.”

The allegations against Oher came to light after Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy’s legal team provided court documents to a Tennessee Probate Court this week as the long and harrowing saga of the breakup of the “Blind Side” family continues their very public fallout.

The situation began during the summer when Oher’s lawyers filed a request to terminate the Tuohy’s conservatorship of him, which he claimed he never knew of despite evidence showing that in his own book he knew full well of the difference between the conservatorship and a legal adoption. Oher also stated that he had not received an equal share of the money from the 2008 film based on his life.

The Tuohy’s provided text messages to the court as evidence of Oher’s malicious intentions.

“If something isn’t resolved this Friday, I’m going to go ahead and tell the world, how I was robbed by my supposed to be parents. That’s the deadline,” the text message allegedly says. “Think how it will look when this comes out.”

Oher, in legal documents, claimed he was deprived of over $50 million, later adjusting this figure to $10 million. Upon the Tuohys’ refusal to meet his demand, Oher raised the claim to $15 million. However, legal filings from November 8 revealed that both Oher and the Tuohys received an equal payment of $138,311, as stated by their lawyers.
