Golden State enforcer Draymond Green has been put on ice by Adam Silver after he struck the Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic on Tuesday
Many fans and observers have labeled Warriors forward Draymond Green as a dirty player. And there’s no doubt that throughout his 12-year NBA career, he’s certainly had more of his fair share of scraps, acting as the enforcer on Golden State teams that captured the Larry O’Brien Trophy in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
But this time it seems that the veteran baller may have gone too far – at least in the eyes of Commissioner Adam Silver.
During the Warriors game against Phoenix on Tuesday night, Draymond Green got into a bit of an ‘entanglement’ with Suns center Jusuf Nurkic. In the end, Green took a swing at the 7-foot Bosnian, hitting him in the head.
That shot is going to cost Draymond Green – and the Golden State Warriors – dearly. With the team sitting at 10-13 and looking nothing like a playoff contender, they will lose their best defender and emotional leader.

On Wednesday, the NBA announced that Green had been suspended indefinitely, posting an official statement on the league’s website and citing the player’s ‘repeated history’ of such acts as the reason for his punishment.
“Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations,” the statement reads.
“This outcome takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,” the website noted. “Green’s suspension will begin immediately. He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play.”
According to multiple reports, Draymond Green will also be forced to undergo counseling before he is allowed to re-enter the NBA. He was already suspended for five games earlier in the year for choking Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert.
