Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is not even the most popular of the power duo that has taken the entertainment world by storm.

Instead, that goes to world-wide music sensation Taylor Swift. Even then, Kelce has made waves himself after leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a second consecutive Super Bowl title. It came via an overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers last month in Las Vegas.

Kelce, 34, is now looking to turn this fame into a post-football career in entertainment. According to Variety, Kelce is in talks with Amazon Prime about hosting a reboot of the famous “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”

“The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is in discussions to host a celebrity-focused reboot of the long-running game show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” that would stream via Amazon Prime Video, according to two people familiar with the matter,” Travis Kelce report. “The deal, if signed, would represent the football great’s latest move toward general entertainment after appearances on “Saturday Night Live,” the reality series “Catching Kelce” and a podcast he hosts with his brother, Jason.”

Kelce has noted that he’d like to do some stuff within the entertainment industry once he calls it quits from football. But this would seem to be a side gig as he continues playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. There had been some rumors about Kelce potentially retiring after the 2023 NFL season. That never came to fruition.

The original “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” premiered back in 2007 with legendary comedian Jeff Foxworthy hosting it on Fox until 2009. After a mere two-year run, it was again revived by Fox. In 2019, Nickelodeon picked up another reboot with John Cena hosting it.

Whether this comes to fruition remains to be seen. Amazon Prime Video refused to comment on the Variety report Tuesday.

“Amazon Prime Video declined to make executives available for comment, and CAA, the agency that represents Kelce, could not be reached for immediate comment,” report on Kelce potentially hosting new game show. “There are some questions, according to the people familiar with discussions, about how much of a commitment Kelce could make to the venture if he continues playing football.”
