Lookout: the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are about to pop up on Netflix.

Their sports docuseries America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was recently ordered by the streaming giant to be available this summer.

Still America’s Sweethearts

Netflix made this decision when Paramount and CMT’s series Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team ended its 16th season in 2022.

Director Kelli Finglass, who is involved in the Netflix series, mentioned that they were in the “process of negotiating a new partnership” with a “new platform.” That platform is now revealed as Netflix.

The program follows members of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders during their 2023-2024 season. From start to finish, their entire process and experience is covered. Beginning with auditions and training, the show then follows the ladies throughout the entire football season.

Seven-Part Series

The news series from director Greg Whiteley and the team behind Cheer and Last Chance U.

The series features seven episodes as the squad gives full access and tells the stories behind the scenes.

According to Deadline, “It is produced by One Potato Productions and Boardwalk Pictures in association with Campfire Studios. Exec producers include Greg Whiteley and Adam Leibowitz of One Potato Productions; Andrew Fried and Dane Lillegard of Boardwalk Pictures; Ross M. Dinerstein and Rebecca Evans of Campfire Studios.”

“The kind of access and creative freedom we need to make the kind of work we want to make is not easy to come by—especially when dealing with a brand as large as the Dallas Cowboys,” said Whiteley. “To their infinite credit, the Cowboys offered unfettered access for the year we filmed the DCC and left us alone. The result is an authentic portrait of one of the most storied and beloved institutions we have in American pop culture.”

So get ready for some extra cheer on your Netflix in the months to come.
