Wrestling: WWE-Wrestlemania

In life after World Wrestling Entertainment, former top dog Vince McMahon is apparently spending his time traveling, dining out and keeping in contact with friends and acquaintances.

That’s what people close to him have told NBC News.

McMahon Reportedly Hasn’t Spoken to Key Family Members Still Involved with WWE

Vince McMahon resigned three months ago from his executive chairman position of the WWE after former employee Janel Grant presented a lawsuit alleging that he had committed sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

To date, McMahon hasn’t been formally charged and he denies all allegations.

But what has he been up to since this news exploded?

A new NBC report says that through speaking with 11 people close to McMahon and his former company they were able to learn what the billionaire has been up to. These sources all chose to remain anonymous.

NBC News reports, “Multiple WWE insiders said he hasn’t had any contact with company leaders and figureheads since he resigned. Mark Shapiro, the operating chief of WWE parent company TKO Group Holdings, said in March that McMahon ‘doesn’t work for the company, doesn’t come into the office, and he’s not coming back to the company.”

So he’s like gone-gone, for anyone still wondering.

He’s also not talked to members of his own family still intimately involved in WWE.

“That also means McMahon hasn’t talked to his son-in-law, WWE creative chief and former superstar Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, or daughter, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, regarding company matters, sources said,” the report noted. “While she introduced WWE’s WrestleMania event earlier this month, McMahon-Levesque, who worked beside her father for more than 20 years and played roles in storylines, currently has no involvement with the company, according to people familiar with the matter.”

McMahon “seems to have moved on, according to multiple sources. McMahon has kept up his other routines, and it’s as if he’s unfazed by his legal fights, two sources said.”

What Vince McMahon Is Doing

While he hasn’t talked to family members, he has reportedly talked to wrestlers who are still involved, including John Cena and The Rock.

One user on X shared video showing McMahon entering an NYC restaurant for dinner. Though it is undated, McMahon is seeing walking with the use of a cane.

“For instance, on an afternoon in late March, McMahon returned on a private plane to the United States from the sunny Turks and Caicos Islands — but he wasn’t alone, according to a person close to him,” NBC News observed. “He had with him seven kittens and a puppy, all of which he brought back to be adopted by his friends, this person added.”

“If anything, he’s enjoying life,” said the person.

Not a bad gig, if you can get it.

‘He Might Have Thought that Janel Would Just Walk Away’

Janel Grant’s lawyer Ann Callis said in a statement on Wednesday after the NBC news story came out that, “He might have thought that Janel would just walk away, but that wishful thinking couldn’t be further from the case.”

What’s next for Vince McMahon is anyone’s guess. In the courtroom and in life.

It’s all been a very long way from the glory days. Watch this cut from 1993 and better times for the wrestling visionary:
