Late-great former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is likely rolling in his grave with what we’ve seen from the historic MLB franchise in recent years.

An unwillingness to up the payroll a whole heck of a lot. No World Series titles since 2009. Missing out on top MLB free agents such as Shohei Ohtani. The list goes on and on.

That’s not how the latter part of Steinbrenner’s tenure in the Bronx ended. Prior to his passing in 2010, the Pinstripes had won five championships over a 14-year span.

We wouldn’t go as far as to say the product under his son, Hal Steinbrenner, is embarrassing. Well, not until now. Get a load of this.

New York Yankees Selling Jersey Advertisement Patches To Fans For $15.00

This is not a joke. We wish it were. When walking around Yankee Stadium, fans are met with an ad asking them to take their jerseys in to get a Yankees Star Insurance Patch. It’s a thing that’s actually happening.

That’s just next-level disgraceful. Are the Yankees planning on selling oceanside retreats in Nebraska and summer villas in Antarctica, too? They are bamboozling. They are hoodwinking. They are swindling. Duping and hornswoggling also come to mind. Find your synonym and place it here.

Remember, this is the same franchise that attempted to hold a “Solar Eclipse Day” during a legitimate total solar eclipse on Monday. It was postponed due to concerns over “safety.”

We would also love to meet the fans who actually paid $15.00 to buy an advertisment patch for a jersey that they already spent $300.00 on. On second thought, no we wouldn’t. They can stay from away. Avoid them like the plague.

Alas, social media absolutely blasted this latest attempt by the Yankees to absolutely defraud their fans. Some of the focus was also on the Yankees’ legitimate mispelling the word insurance in the advertisement. You simply can’t make this stuff up.

Others were just flabbergasted.
