It’s been a whirlwind past 16 months for Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. They have won back-to-back Super Bowl titles, including a victory over the San Francisco 49ers this past February, during that span.
Off the field, Kelce continues to make news due to his now-serious relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift. While he’s not necessarily looking to propose to Swift in the immediate future, Kelce has seen his relationship with the icon deepen in recent months.
It really is a foursome of elite personalities in Kansas City right now. Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, have becomes friends with Swift. They have taken to her at nearly every turn.
In talking about his teammate’s relationship with Swift, Mahomes offered a hilarious take on Thursday. Here’s what he had to say during an appearaince on ESPN’s the Pat McAfee Show.
“We enjoy it. It’s been a fun run,” Mahomes said. “I like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert. He was sitting in my suite. So, I feel like I was the matchmaker.
Indeed.
It was last summer that Kelce attended a Swift concert in Kansas City. At least initially, the future Hall of Fame tight end was disappointed in not being able to meet Swift and hand her a friendship bracelet he had made. Yes, this is something that happened.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Kelce said.

Patrick Mahomes Involvement in Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Hook-Up
In an interesting twist, Swift notes that she got Kelce’s message shortly after the concert, and they started to hang out.
“We started hanging out right after that,” Taylor Swift said back in December. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Whether Mahomes actually played a role in their romance remains to be seen. He’s certainly happy about how things are headed. The question here is whether the three-time Super Bowl MVP will be one of Kelce’s best men when he does tie the knot with Swift.
For now, it seems as if this relationship is in more of the “teeny bopper good vibes stage.” Swift and Kelce wouldn’t have it any other way.
